Luca Moretto, together with 32 via dei Birrai has entered his artwork a “X Anniversary 32 Via dei Birrai” " in the international contest that rewards the best collaborations between the corporate world and the art world. The prizes of the “MECENATI DEL XXI SECOLO - Corporate Art Awards® 2018” contest will be presented at a ceremony on November 28th at the European Parliament in Brussels.
On the occasion of the ten years of activity of the famous craft brewery, 32 Via dei Birrai, Moretto reinterprets its logo with Venetian-inspired silicone murrine, a recurring theme that characterizes both his works on canvas and the sculptural supports. A theme that the artist from Jesolo, records as "Murrina Pop®" format.
The idea of this collaboration with 32 Via dei Birrai was born from the desire to bring together the art of producing a special beer with the creative inspiration of Moretto. A winning combination that brings the artist to participate in the Corporate Art Awards® 2018, an international competition where he will compete alongside important names such as, Bank of Italy, Bulgari, Deutsche Bank, ENEL, FCA, Fendi, Volkswagen and many others.
Always passionate about the world of communication, Moretto is not new to the relationship with the business reality. His most famous work "Vespa Venice", is an example of the Piaggio model from 1967, which the artist revisited with inspiration and imagination and then exhibited it at the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale in the Italian Pavilion as well as at the recent "Motocicletta. The architecture of speed", a spectacular exhibition organised by the "Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia" (the Venice Civic Museums Foundation) in tandem with the pavilion of the 2018 Architecture Biennale in Forte Marghera (Mestre). Moretto's Vespa is a permanent guest of the Piaggio Museum, considered by ICON as one of the 5 most beautiful unique versions of the famous Italian scooter.
Moretto's art is direct, joyous, but comes from a painful journey that must be understood and absorbed together with shapes and colors because it comes with a special gift: a message of optimism and hope to face the difficulties of life. At 23, Luca lost a leg after a motorcycle accident and since then lives with pain because of the "ghost limb syndrome". Art became a cure for his mind.
In 12 years of activity, Moretto experiments with silicone on canvas to be able to shape it in the most unthinkable shapes and forms, giving it dignity and beauty. Hi works irradiates energy that ignites the sensory desire in the viewer, a desire that the artist incites to satisfy allowing to caress his creations. Its creative force is also aimed at an art form that can be a vehicle for communication. It is simply impossible not to be overwhelmed by the joy of living that the artist celebrates in his motto: "Optimism can also be rooted in pain".
